Spring is around the corner (I hope) and we have a lot going on. From our fundraisers we have awarded three scholarships at the April 23rd scholarship banquet. The recipients will be posted at the club as well as in the July-August edition of the Eagles Newsletter and on our website www.1291.foe.com.
On Saturday May 16th we will be hosting a Child Advocacy Day at the club from 1:00 – 3:00. There will be a Fire Truck from the Celina Fire Department. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Department will have a rescue boat on hand as well as performing safety seat inspections, seat replacements, and DNA swabs. The Celina Police Department will be having a K9 demonstration and also will have a cruiser on display. There will be tables set up from different community businesses promoting safety for children. This event is free and is open to the public. A big thanks goes out to the girls and the community for working hard to put this together for the children.
The Mother / Daughter banquet will be held on Thursday May 7th at 6:30. The Auxiliary will provide the meat and everyone is to bring a covered dish and enjoy the evening.
To all the mothers out there HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!
May 23rd we will be holding a Hog Roast with serving to begin at noon. This will be held during the annual Car and Motorcycle Cruise – In Car Show. The Proceeds from this will go towards the Rosie Chrisman Scholarship fund. Come out and enjoy the food and help support the Auxiliary. We will also be holding a raffle. Check with an Auxiliary officer for more information or to buy tickets.
We need help working the door on Sundays from 5:00 – 7:00 in May. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board in the Social Room if you can help out the club.
